BAPTISM: Baptism is a sacrament of Christian initiation and our entry into the church. The Rite of Baptism is conducted preferably during the Sunday Liturgy. Expectant parents are asked to contact the parish as early as possible to sign up for Baptism classes.
CONFIRMATION: Confirmation is an important milestone in our faith journey. Students begin a two-year preparation program during their 9th grade year and celebrate Confirmation in the spring of their 10th grade year.
EUCHARIST: We encourage the reception of Holy Communion at each Mass. We encourage parishioners to attend daily mass for their spiritual growth and as a sign of unity with the Lord and people of St. Michael Parish. There is a parish celebration for First Eucharist for our second graders.
HOLY ORDERS: It is the obligation of all of us to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. They are a great blessing in each parish and every family. If you are interested in any religious vocation, please contact Fr. Bernie.
RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a process for adults who wish to be baptized if they have not been baptized, learn more about the Catholic faith if they were raised in another faith denomination, or for Catholics who were not taught about their faith or want to delve more deeply into the theology that underlies their faith. Candidates for this process and their mentors join the Faith Formation program as well as additional classes and discussions during the year. Full initiation into the Catholic Faith usually takes place at the Easter Vigil Mass.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: Both communal and individual Penance services are conducted at St. Michael’s. General Absolution services are not recommended by our Bishop. Communal services are usually before Easter and Christmas. Individual reconciliation takes place on Saturdays from 4:00-4:30 p.m. or by appointment.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK: Fr. Bernie conducts the sacrament of the sick by request. Please let the parish office know if anyone you know is ill or in the hospital. Anyone who is ill is encouraged to receive the sacrament of the sick. The hospital does not contact us when someone from the Parish is in the hospital.
