Music
The Church of St. Michael
believes strongly that music is an essential part of our communal
worship. The Music Ministry at St. Mike's provides that music for all
Sacramental celebrations, most importantly the Mass.
If you are interested in joining our ministry, please contact John Mark
at

St. Michael's Choir
St. Michael's Choir rehearses during the fall, winter, and
spring every Wednesday night at 8:00 and sings at 10:30 Mass and on some
holidays. The choir sings in four parts and is skilled at singing all
types of music. All parishioners high-school and older are welcome to
join.
Children's Choir
Our children's choir sings at Mass four to five times per
school year. For each session of children's choir there are three
required rehearsals. Children's choir is open to children 2nd through
8th grade.
Cantor
Cantors at the Church of St. Michael lead the assembly in
song when the choir is not present. Our cantors are highly skilled
musicians who feel comfortable leading and supporting the people in
song. Parishioners 14 and older may audition to cantor.
Men's and Women's Ensembles
Occasionally on special Holy Day Masses, Sunday Masses, or
other events, the men or women sing in an ensemble. If you are looking
to be involved in the music ministry, but don't want the stress of
every-week rehearsals, this is an ideal time for you to come and sing
with the choir.
Pianists/Keyboardists
Musicians who are skilled keyboardists are invited to
accompany music at Mass.
Instrumentalists
Instrumentalists are used in our ministry regularly. If you
are a skilled instrumentalists (flute, trumpet, trombone, etc), we would
be very happy to include you in our liturgies. |
